In addition to passenger flights, Qatar Airways is now also regularly operating cargo flights to Vienna. The inaugural scheduled cargo aircraft of Qatar Airways Cargo officially touched down at Vienna Airport last week for the first time.
With immediate effect, the new cargo connection will operate once a week and represents a significant improvement for Vienna Airport as a location for air freight. Since 2003, Qatar Airways has operated passenger flights to Vienna, earning the title of “World’s Best Airline” in 2022 for the seventh consecutive year. From its domestic flight base in Doha, the airline’s subsidiary “Qatar Airways Cargo” will now begin to regularly operate cargo-only flights to Vienna.
Qatar Airways Cargo will consistently run one weekly air cargo route between Doha and Vienna. One of the top international air cargo carriers in the world, the airline was founded in 2014. There are more than 60 air cargo destinations served worldwide departing from its Doha domestic flight hub.
In addition to an A310 cargo plane, the fleet consists of five Airbus A330 freighters, 21 Boeing 777 cargo airplanes, and two Boeing 747-8 freighters. Skytrax recognized Qatar Airways Cargo “Cargo Airline of the Year” in 2021
