Kazakhstan ratified the agreement with Turkey on easing transportation by the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route
The Agreement is mainly aimed at development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which is in environment of sanctions against Russia has become an alternative for transportation of goods between China and EU states.
The Agreement provides for development of piggyback transportation — combined railway-road transportation, transportation by road trains, trailers, semi-trailers and swap bodies on special platforms; and most importantly introduces a common transport document for railway and sea transport to be executed by electronic means using a specialized automated digital platform.
The ratification of the Agreement is expected to result in decrease in time of goods transportation by the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route from 13-15 days to 5 days and in general to promote the growth of cargo traffic between two countries.
