Sesé expands its logistics business in Europe and America
Sesé begins the year of its 60th anniversary with new strategic international logistics operations. In recent months, the company has started new logistics projects to the value of 250 million Euros over the next three years in Mexico, Hungary and Portugal in the automotive sector and continues to expand its business in the textile sector in Europe.
Jordi Romero, Sesé’s Global Director of Logistics, pointed out, “2024 has been a key year for Sesé in the field of logistics. The launch of new, large-scale international operations such as those in Mexico, Hungary and Portugal is a clear example of how our firm commitment to our customers and the customisation of services allows us to continue to grow and be more competitive”. The company has significantly developed its logistics business line, currently managing 72 centres and more than 3,000,000 square metres worldwide.
New automotive logistics operations in Mexico, Hungary and Portugal
In Mexico, the company has expanded its activity with the incorporation of a new operation in Puebla, where Sesé has been developing logistics and transport services for 15 years. The new internal logistics operation involves the integral management of the largest automotive logistics centre in Mexico: unloading and inspection of materials, management of automatic and manual storage, commissioning, selection of materials and supply to 22 logistics areas and 5 production lines. The start-up of the operation has meant the integration of more than 800 people in Sesé Mexico, a strategic region for the company, which already has a team of more than 2,000 people.
In recent months, the company has also taken on two similar strategic logistics projects in Györ (Hungary) and Palmela (Portugal). Both operations involve the management of internal logistics and the integration of around 1,200 and 590 people in each country respectively.
Development in the retail and industrial sector
In recent months, the company has also maintained its development in the retail sector with the start-up of its new logistics centre located in Torrejón de Ardoz, Madrid. A 15,000 square metre multimodal facility where, in addition to offering warehousing services, the company manages air cargo for its subsequent distribution to the airport. In Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Sesé has a 20,000 square metre centre with the same characteristics, mainly dedicated to the textile/retail sector. In 2024, the company also started a new internal logistics operation in the industrial sector in Cordoba (Spain).
2025: a year to celebrate
Under the slogan “60 years of instinct”, Sesé will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2025. Sixty years, during which the company transformed itself from a transport company to an integrated supply chain manager.
In 1965, Alfonso Sesé Tena started his business in Urrea de Gaén (Teruel), dedicated to the transport of goods by road. For years, it was dedicated to the purchase, sale and transport of agricultural products whose seasonality allowed it to respond to other customers, optimise resources and expand, eventually possessing a modest fleet of lorries. Thirty years later, Alfonso Sesé, his son, and his sister Ana are developing the family company with a clear objective: to grow the business and diversify the services. Their instinct and entrepreneurial spirit has led to the opening of international offices and the diversification of the business beyond land transport, to progressively include logistics, industrial, air and sea transport services. The company is in its sixtieth year as an integrated supply chain manager, still guided by the same entrepreneurial spirit and is now facing the future with the same passion it had on the day it was founded and aims to transform the supply chain of the future.
