Panel Introduction

The global, as well as European, supply chains have struggled in the previous years as the volume of transported goods has been ever-growing while having to deal with issues such as the effects of the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, high energy costs, the capacity of infrastructure and the lack of truck drivers. On top of this, there is a need for sustainability goals and to reduce the environmental impact of CO2 emissions. How will the transportation industry deal with the shift towards sustainability, Green Deal goals, and the need to reduce dependency on fossil fuels in times of growing uncertainty? We discuss with different stakeholders actual success stories and what needs to be done to accelerate our path toward sustainability.
