In the face of the current challenges, the Subcarpathian region has become not only a hub for military and humanitarian aid for Ukraine, but also a key link in support in the reconstruction of the country. DACHSER joined the effort in this direction and, after intensive preparations, opened a delivery line from the Rzeszów branch to Lviv and Kiev. The first transport took place on 2 October this year.

According to the Polish Economic Institute, the value of Ukrainian exports in 2022 decreased by 2021 percent compared to 35, and imports by 19 percent. The main cause of this crisis, in addition to the devastation resulting from hostilities, was the blockade of the main trade route, which previously ran through the Black Sea and handled about two-thirds of Ukrainian exports. Currently, trade traffic has been redirected to land routes. As a result, Poland has become Ukraine’s main trading partner, and thus the largest recipient of its exports and the second largest supplier, second only to China.

New regular connection

As part of the new delivery line, one transport a week has been launched, which takes place on Fridays, but it is planned to expand the offer with additional services in the future. The new connection arrives in Lviv and Kiev, at ACE, a partner of DACHSER.

The Rzeszów branch of DACHSER, which operates the new line, is located at the Rzeszów-Jasionka airport, in the immediate vicinity of the A4 motorway, and is a logistics centre for south-eastern Polish. It has a state-of-the-art contract logistics warehouse and a transshipment terminal. In addition, the branch is prepared to handle ADR shipments, and ensures smooth and compliant transport of goods across customs borders. The DACHSER Customs Agency not only advises you on customs clearance issues, but also handles all formalities such as customer registration and data archiving. In the near future, the Rzeszów branch will also have a Customs Warehouse.
