Tariff Reductions at the Batumi Sea Port

Batumi International Container Terminal – BICT that operates and manages the container, ferry and general cargo terminals at the Batumi Sea Port in Georgia, has responded to the current challenges faced by the used car industry, by announcing a reduction in our car stripping and storage tariffs effective from the middle of April 2024.
In particular:
  1. Container stripping rates have been reduced to 40$ per car (instead of the previously announced rate of 60$) all-inclusive, including actual delivery of the car to the customer or loading it onto the car carrier.
  2. Car parking rates have been reduced to 10$ per car per day (instead of the previously announced rate of 30$) starting from the 4th day of parking onwards (stripping day plus an additional two days is free of parking charges) until collection of the car by the customer.

The Batumi Port is one of the key transportation trade points in the Black Sea Basin. This decision is aimed at easing any burdens importers and exporters may have encountered recently due to the geo-political situation in the region. The company is confident that this initiative will not only reduce the operational costs of their customers but also empower the business endeavours, fostering sustainability and growth.
